A Greek Tragedy in a Post-Apocalyptic World…

That’s how I described the play I had the honor of doing a table read of tonight.

Local playwright Katie Myers has finished the first draft of a new play, and I, along with several alumni of Harrison Young’s Next Rung Productions playwriting mentorship program got to read it through for her, live.

I can’t tell you much about it, but I can say it takes place in an Oak Ridge of the future. A future hopefully none of us will see. Oh, and King Lear is an influence. And The Simpsons. And maybe Waiting on Godot. I loved it, and I had a great time.

Intrigued? You should be. Keep an eye out later this year for a full, public table read at a theatre near you….

P.S. I know, I know, the photo is AI slop, but I thought it was funny..
